Division of labour, characteristic of industrialization, is also applied to institutions, which become more highly specialized. Instead of being governed by tradition or custom, society comes to be governed according to abstract principles formulated for that purpose. Traditional religious beliefs often decline in importance, and distinctive cultural traits are often lost.

A Computer is an electronic device that is capable of transforming data into useful and meaningful information. It is a machine capable of storing and processing large amounts of information and performing calculation. It can also be used for evaluating data.
Data refers to items of knowledge, facts which do not have meaning such as numbers, words, sounds that are unprocessed.
Information refers to processed data that are meaningful.

- Monitor-an output device(screen of your computer) where you can see what you are doing in your computer. There are two types of monitors:(1)Cathode Ray Tube(CRT),the typical monitor that you can see attached with many personal computers;(2)Flat-panel Display, used with personal computers(laptops etc.).

- Keyboard-main input device that is used for entering numbers and text into the computer, consist of more than 100 keys that you should know the function of each to use your computer more effectively. Used for entering data and instructions.
- Storage Devices and Multi-Media- Storage media are materials that store
data(examples:floppy disk, hard disk and compact disk read-only memory or CD-ROM). Media refers to the products swther forms on which data are actually transcribed or can be recorded. A storage device is a device where the computer can read data from or write data to (examples: floppy disk drive, hard drive, and the CD-ROM drive). Device is used to denote the input/output units that read data from the media used or write data on the media. Multimedia, is media and content that uses a combination of different content forms. The term is use in contrast to media which only use traditional forms of printed or hand-produced material. It includes combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video, and interactivity content forms.

Printer - Printer-an output device use to print on paper what you have done in your computer. There are two types of printer:(1)Impact printers, are those use a print head that strikes the ribbon against the paper(examples: daisywheel and dot matrix);(2)Non-impact printers, use special mechanism that do not strike the paper such as ink, heat, and laser(examples: ink-jet printers and laser jet printers).
- Peripheral Devices-those devices are helpful in performing different tasks to make man's work easy and fast.
2. MODEM(short for Modulator/DEModulator)-used to convert the digital output from a computer to an analog signal that can be sent over analog transmission lines. It can be use for a signal to access your PC to the internet.
3. JOYSTICK OR HAND CONTROLS-control the movement of creative objects in the figure game program.
4. FAX BOARD-has full-send-receive capabilities and can share with the telephone line.
5. SCANNER-considered as the eye of your PC that allows your PC to convert a drawing or photograph into codes that a graphic can use to display the image on the screen.
6. READ ONLY OPTICAL DISK (CD-ROM)-A disk that stores data using an optical process and whose data can only be read and cannot be changed,it is referred to as CD-ROM(Compact Disk Read Only Memory).It is suitable for storing large data like in a business purposes.
7. TRACKBALL-alternative to the mouse, that uses the principle of twirling the ball for fast positioning of the cursor
8. TAPE DRIVES-used as a point of sale terminal for a busy retail operation or for work that produce a lot of data everyday.
9. BAR CODE READERS-scans a computer-readable bar code, such as the Uniform Product Code (UPC).

3. Make sure your hands are clean before using the computer.
4. To give your computer a few minutes of power during power failure, use an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS).
5. Use a computer voltage regulatory to protect your computer from electricity fluctuations.
6. Put all disks and CDs in their proper places not to misplaced it.
7. Use drive cleaners to clean your computer's disk drives.
DON'TS
Do not place your computer under the direct heat of sunlight or in a place where it might get wet.
1. Do not eat nor drink while using your computer.
2. Do not hit your computer when there is something wrong with it, just wait for awhile to fixed it.

7. Can be used for medical diagnosis.
8. Can be used in teaching and learning purposes.
9. You can gathered a lot of information from it.
10. Can be used to enhance the productivity of office workers and to give better services to their clients.
11. Can be used to prepare multimedia presentations to sell a product in your business.
12. We can find our long lost friends through social media.
